As steward and manager of the MacEwan Student Centre at the University of Calgary, the U of C Student’s Union can provide several opportunities for external businesses and organizations to get their message out to a dynamic future leader and campus community market. There are over 25,000 undergraduate students (the 18-24 year old market) and over 5,000 graduate students at the U of C supported by over 1800 professional academic staff as part of the campus community.

The University of Calgary is ranked as one of the top ten research universities in the country with more than 30 research institutes and centres, 14 faculties and over 100 academic programs. It has an estimated $1B annual impact on the Calgary and area economy. 

The MacEwan Student Centre (MSC), one of the best and busiest student centres in the country, is the hub of campus activities and a home for students with a broad range of products, services and programs. The Centre offers university student academic and career services, is home to more than 240 student clubs, has a 40,000 square foot event centre, bars and lounges, health, dental and wellness services, a major food court, study areas, bookstores and printing services and a range of retail products and services to support student and campus life.

The Centre welcomes more than 100,000 visitors a week during the busy fall and winter semesters with approximately half that traffic during the summer semester – total annual visits exceeding 4.0 million.

This is a targeted and attractive marketplace for many businesses and organizations wanting to focus on this younger demographic.
