Every year your SU supports UofC students through student awards. Last year student donations through the peer bursary levy led to over $1 million in bursaries distributed to deserving students. The SU provides several awards to outstanding students who excel in a variety of areas.
Travel & Conference Funding/Academic Competition Funding
Is there a particular professional or academic conference you think would be of great benefit to your academic or professional development? Is there an academic competition that you feel you would be a cinch for you to walk away with the prize? Your SU offers financial assistance for you to attend these opportunities.
Are you a member or leader of an SU-sanctioned club? If so, you can take advantage of the University of Calgary Alumni Association’s annual funding program to support special project related to student club activities.
SU Sustainability Board (SUSB) – Sustainability Fund
Are you concerned about our environment? Does fostering a more environmentally responsible and sustainable campus community excite you? The SUSB Sustainability Fund offers funding to on-campus projects that promote sustainability at the UofC.
Quality Money is an initiative of your SU to provide funding to projects at the UofC that enhance the overall student experience. Increased study space, new lab equipment and an on-campus bicycle shop are just some of the successful initiatives made possible through Quality Money. Students, faculty and other campus members are eligible to receive funding for their projects.
The Laurence Decore Award is funded and administered through the Alberta Heritage Scholarship Fund and promoted by your SU. The award recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding dedication and leadership to fellow students and to their community through involvement in student government, student associations, clubs and /or community organizations.
