SU Events BSD

Bermuda Shorts Day 2012

Mark your calendars for Calgary's largest student celebration, with exception to #ProjectKris. We're still working on some details but we already have confirmed dates and music to get you pumped.

Location, Bands, and Stuff

BSD will be held outdoors, in Lot 32, on April 13, 2012, 12:00pm until 5:00pm. Artists Michael Bernard Fitzgerald, Smalltown DJs have already been confirmed with more to follow. Jet Thunders returns as MC and we're pretty sure the hula girls are back.

Wristbands, student ID and age ID will be required to enter into the beer gardens. Wristbands do not guarantee entry into the beer gardens. Sorry. It's inconvenient but those are the rules to ensure everyones safety and ability to have fun.

Wristbands

Wristbands will be made available starting April 9th through April 12th from 9:00am until 5:00pm. The line starts in the North Courtyard of MacEwan Student Centre, between the Stor and Dairy Queen. Age ID and U of C Student ID will be required to get your wristband.

You will NOT be able to get a wristband on the day of BSD (April 13th) so be sure you give yourself ample time during the week.

The colour of the wristbands is still a mystery so we apologize to anyone wanting to colour-coordinate their BSD attire.

YOU MUST BE A UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY STUDENT TO GET A WRISTBAND. This means there will be noe guest access.

History

It’s the end of the year party to end all parties! Your SU is pleased to offer this legendary event every year on the final day of classes in April.

Your SU puts together this end of the year party to give students a chance to celebrate their successes, blow off some steam after a hard-working term and party one last time before heading into exams. Legend has it that BSD first began when a student suggested everyone wear bermuda shorts on the last day of classes. Fifty years later this fun idea has evolved into a celebration famous across the country.

BSD offers great live musical acts, cheap prices on refreshments and an awesome venue to party with your friends. Most importantly, admission to this event is free for all current U of C undergrads!

Be sure to check out this page towards the end of the academic year (April) for all the details on BSD for the year including how to get wrist bands for admission, location and music line-up.

Don’t be fooled by other postings or social networking groups claiming to have the scoop on BSD. This web page is the official and only place where you will find all the right details, schedules and instructions on how to get admitted to this event!
