Join the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Support and Response Office and the Women’s Resource Centre for a viewing of the second episode of The Big Sex Talk, a docuseries from CBC about all things sexuality, gender, and relationships! This episode, “Not Having It”, asks what it means to be asexual in a hypersexualized world, if we should rethink pleasure, and whether cake is better than sex. Our screening will be followed by a talk and Q&A with Theresa Kenney, who makes an appearance in the episode to discuss asexuality, alternative pleasures, and more.
Theresa N. Kenney (she/her/siya) is a PhD Candidate and Teaching Fellow in the Department of English and Cultural Studies at McMaster University. Her research explores asexual, aromantic, and platonic relationalities in queer Asian North American cultural production. Theresa’s research can be found in Feminist Formations and decomp journal and she is a featured guest in the documentary series The Big Sex Talk. More at ToPoliticise.com
