CHIEF RETURNING OFFICER
The Chief Returning Officer (CRO oversees Students’ Union elections, referenda, and plebiscites. Their role is to make sure these processes are fair, transparent, and accessible to all undergraduate students.
The CRO manages candidate nominations, ensures the Election Policy is followed, and works with the Elections team to organize voting days and polling stations.

CHIEF RETURNING OFFICER’S OFFICE HOURS FOR BY-ELECTION 2026:
CRO office hours are as follows:
- Tuesday: 10am -3pm
- Thursday: 10am – 3pm
To speak with the CRO about an upcoming election, please review their office hours above and choose a time that works best for you. Then, email elections@su.ucalgary.ca to request for an appointment. You will receive a confirmation once your appointment is scheduled. Appointments may be scheduled as either in-person or virtual meetings.
Please note that emails are monitored Monday to Friday, and the CRO requires at least 24 hours to respond. Appointments are available in 30-minute blocks. To help our CRO best support you during your appointment, please consider emailing your questions in advance.
